"Yeah steve's right this is basically xtal, i mean its missing the drums, the chords, the lead synth, reverbs and the whole structure and also its twice as short but yeah its basically xtal"

this song is going to get more listens than it ever did because Aphex Twin sampled it.

It took THREE people to make this tiny, budget demo, but just one genius to turn it into an incredible, finished track.

It ain't even compareable to one second of Xtal. Xtal is indeed one of the best Electronic songs ever made.

OMG chilling. Found this because it was on a video detailing Aphex Twin samples.

Sampling is NOT STEALING. Hate when artists gatekeep. Sampling is what made electronic music what it is. Its like getting mad at someone for using an amen break.

Steve is out of his damn mind. Xtal completely transformed this track. He should be honored. It's almost impossible to make an original melody that doesn't resemble another, even if the composer is unaware of the similarity.

Picturing rdj just sat in his room just listening to demonic shit like this and it's so fitting. I wonder if this kind of stuff was his inspiration for his 2nd volume

The guy accusing Aphex of "ripping him off" for sampling a few seconds of this vocal from a library album was really grasping at straws.

just come here directly from the aphex 'morally wrong' sample vid, but if you'd played this to me yesterday and said "which electronica track that you've been listening to for the past 30+ years samples this piece of music?" I honestly wouldn't have had a clue... not remotely obvious (imo)

Richard D. James actually turned this into something beautiful. The original one is pretty much straight from a cult b-horror flick.

Bought the CD in 1994 and this tune still keeps spinning temporarily bringing back deep memories. Just wonderful.

"oh no something i created was used transformativly to create another great piece of art and instead of being grateful to have participated in the creation of multiple amazing works all i care about is that the second one is more popular and i never got a check for it"

It an interlude track. It IS finished. Just because it’s a short track doesn’t mean it’s unfinished. I love short pieces of music like this. Boards of Canada have tons of those nice interludes. Especially on their album Geogaddi.
