I was born in 1960 and I'm sure this is a very album my parents had. We had one stereo, and one TV, black and white of course until 1968 or so. Both the stereo and TV were in the living room. This album brings back memories

My momma’s Grandmother Alice Yockey went to school with Burl Ives in Illinois. Went to a one room schoolhouse with him. She remembered the day Burl Ives left their small hometown to go “ strike it out to become famous from singing.”

My momma always played Burl Ives Christmas songs while we decorated our Christmas tree every year. She also bought a special Christmas treat (Swiss Colony Petit Fours) to eat while decorating our Christmas tree ♥️🎄
