I believe the 'police' and the grill are printed using a method called hot stamp printing. A heated die in the shape of the print presses a layer of foil into the plastic, which is why you get a slight embossed effect. Lego seems to have gone away from that around the late 70s.

These old sets look like somebody built them with a limited amunt of pieces. I really like that :)

I have played a lot with this car, and it was a lot of fun in those days.

I was 2 when this set was released, so it's just about right at the start of my Lego childhood, and I'd like to add that they sold lots of very small sets that were very inexpensive back then. They were what mom's bought their children to keep them busy while the adults looked at clothes at the mall. Typically, kids would've had a fairly large number of these tiny sets (like maybe a dozen), and as today, the original models were usually only built once, and the bricks were then mixed in with your collection to be used for all of your custom builds. It seems simple, but really, it was I think more about price than about the model. It represented a small number of new pieces for your Lego collection, rather than a police car.

Is it weird that I think the older police cars look better or more realistic

I think I had that fire truck. Very vague memories, must have been around 3 years old... Anyway it had those doors, and ladders were attached to a revolving piece.

Looks like the same scale used with the newer Creator canister sets.

That police car is very simple and easy to play. But the question is that the car is durable?

Lol when I was little and got lazy with building walls I'd stick the bricks in sideways like that.

Hey jang is that technique illegal because the community say so because surely if Lego themselves use it then why would they say its illegal
