I’m a convert to The Church and was in an irregular marriage. Luckily and by the grace of God I was informed of this and went through the rather arduous process of being reconciled with The Church and God. It’s freeing and the right thing to do. While listening to this, and in light of recent garbage flowing out of Rome, I recalled the passage from St Clement Hofbauer's prayer for the preservation of the faith, that states, "Ah, keep us safe in the true Catholic and Roman faith. Let sickness afflict us, vexations waste us, misfortunes overwhelm us~but preserve in us Thy holy faith, for if we are rich with this precious gift, we shall gladly endure every sorrow and nothing shall ever be able to change our happiness."

Remember the days when if there was a problem in our parish or diocese, we looked to Rome for clarity? It was a long time ago because Rome is not teaching Catholicism and has not been for a long time! Sometimes I wonder if Pope Benedict resigned in such a way that it would later be proven that he did not t resign. The reason? Because the forces against him were too strong to fight and he chose to trust that God would help clear it up at a later date. He was such an intelligent man that if anyone could work it that way, he would be smart enough to do it! As I said, just wondering!
