Explication du chant :

ÉLOHÉ : est un des nombreux Nom de Dieu dans l’Ancien Testament. Il est donné par Jacob à l'autel qu'il éleva dans le champ à Sichem (Ge 33:20). « et là, il construisit un autel qu'il appela El-Elohé-Israël. » Genese 33, 20 (=Dieu est le Dieu d'Israël).

ÉLOHIM : est la forme plurielle d’Élohé, ce qui appuie la doctrine de la Trinité. Dès le premier verset de la Bible, la puissance suprême de Dieu se manifeste puisqu’il lui suffit (à Élohim) de parler pour faire que le monde existe (Genèse 1.1).

YAHWÉ : est le Nom que Dieu révèle à Moïse au buisson ardent. On pourrait le traduire par « Je suis celui qui est », « Je suis qui je suis ». Par respect pour ce Nom Saint et Mystérieux, Israël ne va pas le prononcer, il va utiliser à la place le nom d’Adonaï.

ADONAÏ : est un terme qui signifie « mon maître » ou « mon Seigneur ». Notez aussi qu’il est pluriel. Ce mot est prononcé dans l’ancien testament à la place du tétragramme sacré YHWH (Nom Saint et Mystérieux). Adonaï comme Élohim pourraient être écrits au pluriel afin de mettre en exergue que ce Dieu « Un » cache en lui une pluralité, une trinité. Un Dieu en 3 Personnes.
