Like someone else mentioned, this is actually the line that got me back into nail polish because of the long wear time. I have a ton of them now and prefer to get a color in this formula when I can. When I went back to work and grad school at the same time, I could do my nails with the Gel Couture on Sunday and then last the workweek with my nails looking awesome. Also my coworkers were always surprised to learn they weren't gels because the top coat gives a plump look. I agree that the regular Essies are very nice too at this point, but the Gel Couture does edge them out on wear time for me. It holds up to things like gardening without chipping.

The twist stem is to help prevent too much polish from running down the stem 😉

Great video as always, Thanks Larissa. I’m with you on the Essie GC. Unless you can’t live w/o the color … I guess I can live w/o them. LOL Essie is my fav brand. They had that hiccup in their formula a few years ago, but I think they are back to the best formula and colors.

I like the essie gel couture, it is actually the line that got me back to wearing nail polish again because they dry fast and wear well with the top coat. However, if I wear them too often, they cause my nails to peel right in the middle of the nail, like they stick to the nail too well. I do still wear them but just not very often.

These do wear really well!! I don't have very many from the gel couture line but the ones I do have are great. 😊 I use base coat with them even though they say it's not needed. (I'm a rebel 😎 🤪 like that. Lol!) Thank you for this review.

I found these at my local TJ Maxx a few days ago for $3.99 so I picked them up. They are really pretty colors but I do agree that they are not necessarily worth the full price for them. I also agree that they should be called a trio and not a collection… lol. I do however think they apply great and they are beautiful colors. I grabbed a few others while I was there as well.. There is a grey called Once upon a time that is absolutely stunning

Thank you for another great review video. And yes, I fully agree that the current regular line of Essies have a brush and formula that is equal to the Gel Couture line. In my experience, they are just as easy to apply and last the same amount of time on the nails. At this point, I also don't see why the Gel Couture line is always more pricey than the regular line, but they started at the higher price point, so maybe that explains it. Anyway, love them both and thank you for another excellent and honest review! Love your channel!

I only have the top coat from that line but haven't used it yet. My top two are first the blue then the pink. I hope i can find them for $3.99! The formula looks great and the bottle is cute but I prefer the regular Essie bottle shape. Nice swatches! TFS!

I like this line. Wear it very frequently with no base coat. Use their top coat and I get at least 7 days of good wear.

This line is fantastic and, as others mentioned, the one that got me to do my nails again. However, in order to get the most out of this line you MUST use the top coat. It mentions it in their instructions. When paired with the top coat these can last me up to 2-3 weeks with zero chips, peeling, etc and maintain that salon quality shine. They look like I got them done at the nail salon. Literally no other polish does this for me.

I have bought essie gel couture and it is easily scraped off, do you have this problem as well ?

The twist in the brush stem actually does do something -- it helps to prevent polish from running down the stem! Isn't that neat? But I agree with you on the "gel-like" claims of this and other brands: by now, I'm afraid it's merely marketing hype. Maybe a reason/excuse to create a few new colors that already have many, many dupes from the brands' regular lines.
