Ableton Serum the VST2 plug-in could not be found SOLUTION

This is specifically for people facing the "serum_x64": VST2 error. I don't know if this causes any more problems but for now it has solved to problem for me

this is great! sadly, it only seems to work on Windows. I can't find the equivalent file on Mac at all. Gotta keep troubleshooting!

My common files/VST3 doesn't have a serum_x64 file at all. I cant find this file on my hard drive period.. wtf. I bought the legit copy through Splice for all that money and now I cant work with projects from other producers. Frustrating.
