Great review and thanks. I'm considering this for my TV room but I have 2 questions please. Due to the "weird" shape/family usage of my room, I would consider mounting 1 x rear speaker flat on the wall to the left of my listening position, but the other, I'm thinking I'd like to mount up pretty high (near the 9 foot high ceiling) and make a bracket up myself to mount the speaker onto, to angle/point it down towards my head/optimum listening position. Similarly, with the 2 x front speakers. Am I insane?

2nd Question - can you use a 3rd party/other manufacturer sub-woofer with this system, or does it have to be a dedicated Sony unit?

You need the SW-5 with the quads. I don't think the subwoofer needs to be included. Their subwoofer was just on sale for $599, when it's typically $699. Then if you had paired it with the purchase of your quads through Sony, you would have saved an extra $100. So you would have paid $499 for a $699 subwoofer.

I didn't need to use FB to login either. Set-up was a breeze. My subwoofer came a day after my quads so I recalibrated the speakers after I received everything.

If my back left speaker is a bit in front of me and not completely to the left of me, Will I still get sounds sounding like there’re coming from behind me on my left using the 360 spacial mapping?

They really need to improve the fabric.

People aren't good with tools and instillation anymore. I'm seeing to many people tear it. I can't imagine what children and animals would do to it.

I agree about the pricing. Should have included the SW-3 sub as the bundle. If a customer wanted the SW-5, pay additional $200.

I plan to purchase this, but I will wait for a sale. I will buy if Sony decides to include the sub with no extra cost.

I am afraid it won't work with any other brands of subwoofers unless you have the Sony ones.

Did you really have to have a facebook account to use the app? If that’s true I may have to pass on purchasing since I don’t have an account
