My education was worth it, but what I learned on the streets and in a third world country is PRICE LESS

Growing up in Brooklyn, you learn to read the room, read ppl. Body language etc hyper vigilance, self awareness, social etiquette, social awareness. Greetings 🇧🇷🇬🇾🇯🇲💃🏿 living in NYC, if you can make it in NYC you can survive anywhere. I lived in the Amazon and some ghettos, can do farm and rural life, living off the land to living in the cities and working corporate America. Bilingual, can code switch

Street smart comes from our experiences and our connection with our instinct. At least it's my experience because this kind of conversation doesn't come up at schools. So we learn them out of the school, hanging out with friends, traveling, working and having different relationships with people

I grew up not rich and severely lacking in street smarts, I was fortunate to have friends that actually protected me from so many situations, that I didn’t realize until recently that basically saved my life. I feel like I was born without that bone and had to grow it lol. But this video definitely helps and is appreciated.

Being street smart shouldn't be shamed as being jaded or you don't trust anyone. Just like chess you have to see all four corners and think about moves before and after it happens. I've seen people come from the bank and count their money in the streets. I wear my headphones and pretend I'm listening to avoid people I don't want to talk to. In college we had people go to parties and several girls said don't take drinks or leave alone with such and such. They thought oh they are just jealous and didn't believe what they said.

I wished that I had more street smarts for real. My man said that if I had more street smarts with my school smarts, I would be dangerous LOL. Thank you for the video ❤

The gift of fear is now on my list. I have unlearned the teachings of giving people the bebefit if the doubt because every time I did that, my instincts were correct and I was not being sensitive.

Now, I refuse to feel guilty for saying no and refusing to around someone.

If that person is genuine with their intentions, they would not be offended by my absence or my no.

Yup! Social skills are crucial. I remember in school clocking when someone didn’t like me or when whole groups didn’t 😂 crazy how even though I was like a kid or a teen, i just felt a vibe or had pretty good intuition about toxic people!

Yep, I'm an immigrant, and my street smarts are what made me a success.
Being street wise is priceless in any situation, period.
God bless💕💕💕

I wasn’t offended at all, yes I felt called out but it’s the truth lol. As someone whose parent said that is okay if I took a break before going to college, I’m soooo grateful. I had no idea what I wanted to do in life and when I figured it out, it was almost like a fire was lit in my heart and the only thing that made me calm down a little was getting sick.
