On j̶a̶v̶a̶ Bedrock, villagers have pathing values related to each block type, with higher cost blocks having lower priority since it takes more "effort". Paths on dirt have almost no value, so they actually serve decently well

This is actually accurate in real life, as humans we often sleep the best when our bodies are aligned with the north to south axis, with our head facing north and our feet facing south. You will often see babies in cots always re adjust themselves so they are in that position with their heads facing north and feet south, so it’s actually crazy how this is in minecraft

This explains why the villager is running to the bed 300 blocks to the north and not the one 5 blocks away that I placed for it!

Try this;

Make a bridge to the north, on the end of the bridge make a fork-like bridge and let the villager choose.

(Make all the fork sections of the bridge have the same length from the old Bridge to the fork-like bridge)

north is the +x direction, the default direction, probably checks it first
