Hey Rich, you make some great vids. The vids involving tractors are my favorite by far! You said that you prefer to install a rebuild kit as opposed to just replacing the seals. I watched it twice to try and figure out what (other than the seals) came with the kit? I really wished you filmed the tractor being test driven...I could have watched that for an hour LOL. Cheers and thanks!

Nice fix. Glad to see no leaks. I've got a hydraulic spool on the old 806 that constantly leaks. Can't tell you how many times I've had it apart. Probably either needs anew housing or valve rod (not sure what it's called right now). We will see how it goes through planting season.

Rich,
I used to work with these a lot. It is possible to miss-time some designs of this type of unit and make it a motor and dangerous to fingers. If you look at 4:22 in the video you can see a pin in the spool and sleeve just to the left of center in the shot. This needs to line up with the valley of the star you drop in at 5:10. 50/50 chance on this unit.

Also, as far as parts to rebuild the unit, other than a seal kit I wouldn't bother. If one part is worn enough to need replacing, the part it mates with will be worn as well and you will go from a worn out unit to a half worn out unit even with some new parts.
