They are simply in a league of their own! It’s laughable that so many people, especially in the USA call a-ha “one hit wonders” because all they’ve ever heard is Take On Me. They have been badly promoted, and even in the U.K. for some reason radio stations very rarely play anything other than TOM or The Sun Always Shines On TV. It’s almost as though there was a conspiracy to keep them off the airwaves. Funny thing is they can still fill stadia around the world, and have legions of loyal fans queuing up to see them. Despite this, music journalists still call them an 80s boy band and have no clue to the fact that they have 10 studio albums and a huge catalogue of music which has sales of an estimated 100 million.

The album "Cast in Steel" is one of A-ha's very best. Blending electronics, acoustic instruments and full orchestra arrangements give a huge sound. The melodies are expansive, yet intimate. The lyrics have a knowing maturity and rarely fall into cliche. Pal & Magne take a lion's share of writing credit, though Morton's contributions are also impressive. Then, when it comes down to the all important vocals, Morton is obviously in top form. It makes me wonder how the American music "industry" has ignored such an influential band for so long. Astonishing! Oh well, their loss & our gain I say 😀👍💗
