Ghost World: An Enduring Cult Classic

Revisting Ghost World for the time in many years, thanks to the Criterion rerelease from 2017, reminded me how much I loved this movie so I'd thought I'd put together a short video explaining why it's such an incredible work.

It's been years since I first saw this movie but I fell in love w it immediately and I'm a boomer. I've seen it countless times and never tire of it. Some things never change. I had a very close bff all throughout HS and we drifted apart after graduation. I was Enid.

I went to see this film at the cinema when it was released, knowing virtually nothing about it, and emerged at the end in a state of shock, struggling to process the extraordinary brilliance I'd just seen. I saw it another three times in the following days.

Maybe my favorite movie of all time despite watching almost exclusively horror movies otherwise. Finally got the criterion collection blu-ray, which is amazing.

I saw this film last week. It completely fcked me up. I just... Felt it so so much. It's just too real. I too just finished high school and altpugh I know exactly where I'm going in life (career-wise) I still feel incredibly anxious about the passage from choldhood to the adult life. It's scary, confusing. And all the emotions that emerged in me in the last months (since graduation) are portrayed so well in this film!! It's simply a masterpiece
