Why Developers Are Leaving XDA Forums
More and more developers are leaving XDA for places like Google Plus community and Telegram Chat groups because of the mentality of a lot of members on XDA. For some reason they feel that they are owed and that If they can find it on line is automatically public property.
I started out on XDA and learned most of what I know today from the wealth of knowledge in all of the threads there.
But lately a new group of users has moved in and they feel that everything is owed to them. The respect for the developer has gone by the way side and it's more like the dev owed the followers something.
This is a short rant of one such issue that ended up closing S.i.Xrom Oreo thread on XDA down.

None the less somebody did speak your mind about what's going on when people need to know the rules and they think they can just do whatever they want should be blocks but catching them before they get stupid and make decisions based on their own desires is really disrespectful so I'm with you Glock man

Thank you! Finally something is being said about these dumb fuks that ruin this fun hobby for all of us! It feels like people don't research anything anymore. I am just an end user myself, however I am trying to further my education of Android. Been doing it since 2012. It's just annoying as hell to see people demand certain features, immediate fixes to a problem they created themselves, and just plain being lazy to not read anything!! Thank you for being the voice of many!!

Dont let 1 incident put you down like Nike always says "Just Do it." Do your stuff and people who are the real developers and who are copycats, so don't worry about them, it is just a phase and they will ultimately disappear into oblivion. Would hate to see you go David.

I know what you mean about xda. I remember back during OG Droid days where if you read more, search more and respected the devs things were a whole lot easier. Now I read but don't commit because you have so many younger ppl wanna take control so to me I just give a thumbs up and keep it moving, other than that telegram channels is where I feel more comfortable because I see the same ppl from the Verizon note 2 forum in the telegram channel. Thanks for this David

the developers MUST be either very naive or have VERY thin skin to just "pull their toys away from the schoolyard" for this kind of behaviour. IMHO, what is playing out here is an attempt to get those running android 8 to stop doing so on the nexus 6 thereby forcing them to buy new phones.
