Memphis has been a great rival for UCF over the years, we'd love to have them in the new Big 12!! Go UCF!!

One thing to keep in mind is conference realignment is ultimately approved by the school presidents in each conference.

The school presidents care about more than just football. So for example if you are proposing a conference from coast to coast because that would be amazing having football on every time zone in the country that's brilliant for football fans. A school president sees that and says you want me to send my track team on a flight from Orlando Florida on Tuesday to San Diego so they can miss an entire week of school?

Everyone, including Memphis fans, knows the Liberty bowl is a problem. You can throw a lot of good money after bad or you can build a new stadium. And you don't need 60, 000 capacity, your average attendance is under 40. Whatever the decision, make a decision. Either s*** or get off the pot.

I think all Memphis has to do is wait..they are a quality program, has a major donor with Fed-EX...they arent gonna be in the AAC for very much longer

What is it Memphis isn't doing that makes this a relevant topic?

Build a new stadium or renovate the one they have.

Man, everyone seems to be obsessing over when, where, who, etc the Big Xii will expand again. But the ink isn't even wet on the deal with the four new teams. I was under the impression the Big Xii wouldn't expand again until the exact dates for the departure of Texas and Oklahoma were set, as well as the exact entry dates for the current AAC teams. That would mean a LOOOONNG time talking about the same topic over and over.

Enjoy your content, but no one in the public or the media, knows what’s going on behind the scene. Our Mayor likened the opportunity to join the Big XII a liking to getting an NBA team. So make no mistake, everyone here knows what’s at stake.🤘🏻🐅🐅

I think y'all are getting thing confused...the twenty-seven (27) month notice is part of the American Athletic Conference (AAC), the Big XII bylaws speak of an eighteen (18) month notification - which, I suspect TX and OU will announce intentions to leave after the conclusion of this season (December 2021), effective 30 June 2023...beginning competition in the SEC fall of 2023,

Honestly; I am a Memphis fan and what I see here is sour grapes because Fred Smith and no one else in Memphis met with him...So; he puts out this video basically slamming the Memphis program and talking about our outgoing President into retirement...[grasping for straws] and then talking about what Memphis must do this and Memphis must do that...The fact of the matter is the Big 12 didn't make the best overall decision with the four teams it selected...

Many people will disagree and many will agree with what I said, but the bottom line is that politics and many other unforeseen variables play a part in the selection of teams into any Power Conference...Regrettably; the Big 12 has a long history of making unwise decisions...but hopefully they will get it right down the road...Memphis more than deserve to be in the Big 12 just base off its' last 7-8 years of success alone...We've been the best team in Tennessee the last 7 years in a row while putting many players in the NFL who are active right now...

I am willing to bet Boise State didn't think a couple of the teams selected were better than them and Boise really hasn't done anything the last eight years in a row...but it is what is...but to put out this shallow video trying to slam the Memphis program will ensure these people never get an interview with anyone close to the Memphis program...This is just one of the draw backs on Youtube; anyone and everyone can claim they are important or pretend to be...Sad and this old guy should be ashamed of himself...I tell you what; go to the Boise State program and see if they speak with you concerning there inner posture on what they are going to do...The door will get slammed in your face...

For those that don't know, the Liberty Bowl is better than most of the Bowl facilities in the AAC and a lot of the Big 12...People keep saying Memphis must be ready...Memphis is already ready and it just so happen the politics fell against Memphis...A couple of the teams that the Big 12 decided to go with over Memphis caught a lot of people by surprise...But things have a way of working themselves out...ESPN along with the PAC 12 may or may not make things very interesting in the next alignment...IMHO

The Big 12 still may lose a couple of teams. Realignment isn’t over. It may be 2-3 years before things move again, but they still likely will.

Go after ASU and AZ or Colorado instead of memphis

It makes you wonder if they really care. I mean, they care about their basketball program and I understand it. They play in an NBA arena and have beautiful facilities. Even the basketball practice facilities are top notch. But the football program? Go watch the Tommy West rant after he was fired. When Memphis tried to start turning around it's dreadful football program, he told them these facilities have to be improved if they want to make a difference. I watched the Navy Memphis game last night. You can see how ruined down the Liberty Bowl is. The fact they have FedEx, Autozone, and several other big corporations with a lot of money in that city; and the football program is still playing in that dump has to bring up serious questions. Cincinnati and Houston built new football stadiums or did serious upgrades. Despite having like 8 straight bowl games and a New Years Day 6 bowl a couple of years ago; they still play in that dump. If I'm the Big 12, I would be happy to invite Memphis and Gonzaga in basketball; but I don't know about these guys in football. Not until they show me they will get a new stadium deal done. I mean, it's not like they don't have the financial backing to pay for it. You can't tell me Fred Smith's alma mater can give some money for a new on campus stadium.

Sorry, I respect the reporting by you guys, but you haven't ACTUALLY SAID anything. Memphis is dragging their feet.... about what? Stadium renovation or OCS? We've already said it will be either/or, not neither. President David Rudd is SUPER invested into sports. He and his predecessor Brad Martin are the reason Memphis football has surpassed Tiger Basketball over the past decade. And that's no small feat. It almost seems as if you found out Memphis is not in, and are slow-walking the reversal of Memphis being a leading candidate for round 2, and making up "issues" to legitimize it. Because you haven't said anything concrete. David Rudd is supposed to do.... "X" that he hasn't done. Fill in THAT blank. And we as a fanbase and the Memphis media community are supposed to be talking BigXII non-stop right now, but we are not? Is THAT your point? We are in the middle of a disappointing (but possibly turning the corner on a VERY young roster) season, and we've been lead down the BigXII primrose path before. Remember 2016? We've got issues we are busy discussing in the here-and-now. Not some football Lucy is holding for us to kick toward Big12 membership.
Have we not actually "submitted an application to join"? I seriously doubt that's actually how this works.
Say SOMETHING a little less nebulous than "Dragging their feet". Please.

I mean, seriously Mr. David, go back and REALLY LISTEN with fresh ears to what y'all said in this video. You may KNOW something beyond "dragging their feet", but you certainly didn't say it. "Dragging their feet" means what? (See my previous post). You know me from my previous e-mails, and my purpose here is genuine. If there is an issue our fan base needs to be aware of, and "pressure needs to be applied" please be more specific.
