I recently lost my wife of 15 years. This morning we laid her to rest. I would do anything to have just 5 more minutes with her to talk with her. There is so much more we could have discussed and there is so much I will want to talk with her about in the future. I picked up her journal that she kept during her cancer battle and started to write her as a way to talk with her. But i know that can't happen. It's stupid. But with my Messiah, I can talk. He is alive and He will listen. Your song made me realize that I need to write to Him in that Journal. Only He can understand the hurt that I am going through. Only He can understand the many things that I wish to discuss with the wife he provided me 15 years ago. Thank you for this song. It's greatly blessed me.

Our first church after we converted was almost exclusively old hymns. People argue the old hymns versus new modern day church songs. I don't believe there is a right or wrong but I do know that the old Hymns definitely speak the word. The messages are direct and pierce through you as it is the Word. No, they are not as fancy as some of the current radio offerings but boy oh boy the Gospel shines through the old hymns and pack a powerful punch or just soothe your soul. Glory!!!

I love this song so much. Everytime I hear it, tears flow. Depression, constant pain from illness, surviving attempts to take my own life, the loss of my best friend who was christian and was murdered, family struggles, surviving encounters with gunmen on multiple occasions, surviving two car crashes etc. This song soothes my soul. Song is truly a weapon. The story behind the hymn is amazing as well. Thanks for the song and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
