Simple Living Is The ONLY Path To Happiness
Показать описание
Searching for happiness in an artificial world.
Books I'm Reading:
I think that deep down inside many people feel as if this constant push for complexity if harming humanity. As more time passes and more complex things are released, it is starting to become clear that simplicity is the only path to happiness. And it's the only path to happiness because it is natural and it's what our human brains can process. In this video, I share "4 Simple Human Needs To Achieve Happiness."
1. Satisfaction From Your Own Work
Complexity is often about making things easier whether that is through an app or a service. And although it is nice to bring easiness into our lives, it takes away the joy you get from accomplishing a task on your own. When you do your own work, you feel like a human that has value. As humans, we need satisfaction in our lives and when you choose to take the more difficult, simple path of doing things on your own, you end up living a happier life.
2. Mental Clarity
We are living in the decade of "Real Time," where we receive information or results very quickly and process them very quickly. I have come to learn that this complex world of real time information is not something we can learn or be accustomed to because our human brains can't process real time information. Our brains were designed to focus on a smaller amount of tasks because it brings you with more mental clarity. And when you choose the simple path of avoiding as much real time information in your life, you will have more mental clarity leading to a happier life.
3. The Right to Privacy
Due to advancements leading to a more complex world, we are quickly losing our privacy as AI becomes more sophisticated and can understand us better. When you choose to embrace these "smart" devices in bring them in your life, you are choosing to forfeit some of your privacy. And when you lose your privacy, it makes you feel violated and empty inside. When you instead choose to live with more basic, simple things, you protect your privacy and feel more autonomous, which leads to a happier life.
4. Deprivation
I believe that deprivation is a very important human need because it teaches us how to appreciate things in life. Often, complexity makes everything easy in your life and gives you what you want, when you want it, where you want it, which just leads to a dystopian world. It is important to not always take the easy path where you always have what you want and instead deprive yourself every now and then. Because when you deprive yourself, you end up living with more appreciation in life.
