Today I set up a 3 node network with an XT8 pair and a Blue Cave node. Old house with thick walls. Very pleased with the router iOS app, and its brainy big sister the Web GUI, which is slick and powerful. With the Web GUI, AiMesh tools can 'Optimize' a mesh topology in a minute with one click. Slick. I used the Blue Cave node as a roving bandwidth probe, and I was favorably impressed with my mesh's QOS, otherwise untuned. Test mode hid this mesh behind my Night Hawk networks, which I wanted to keep up, and which I needed for comparison. Walking around the house with my iPhone and iPad I became convinced that I'll be able to crush my current network's performance and coverage with an AiMesh. My house is so dense that I've resorted to having two Cox Cable gigabit lines at commensurate expense. The AiMesh on one Gigablast line so far outperforms my six Night Hawk networks. So if I remain happy, I can turn off all my other networks, cancel one Gigablast line and use only one SSID for all clients. We shall see.
