Miss the sea. At over 80 years old and handicap I am land locked. These videos help with memories and sometimes my Grandchildren learn a little about sailing. That is when they find time to watch a few minutes.

Hi, I'm also a seafarer, a naval electrician, and Cape Verde🇨🇻 is my country, and I'm also from the island of São Vicente where you received the bunker. I really liked your video and your comment about my country, it was also a shame you didn't dock at the pier, as I'm sure you would love it, the people are very friendly and welcoming

You are a true inspiration for all engine room seafarers who love to learn and importantly share knowledge. I've followed you as a cadet and now as a maritime engineer and continue your footsteps in sharing knowledge. Success and nothing else Chief.

Congratulations on pursuing your higher education. Thanks to you and all the other mariners out there who sacrifice their time at home with families to keep the world supplied with all the products of modern life!

Glad your crew members had a chance to be in this video so their family and friends could see them. I too had never heard of Cape Verde, although I stopped in the Azores, to the north of Cape Verde, many years ago. Thanks for the brief introduction. Love from Liz and Ginger (pic left) in Australia.

Off of the subject of the video, just wanted to let you know of a ferry boat incident that occurred in Greece the other day. A passenger had disembarked from the ferry to retrieve an item on the dock. He barely made it on board by running up the vehicular ramp where he was greeted by two crew members. Video shows he was confronted in an unprofessional manner. He was eventually pushed off of the car ramp as the boat launched from the dock and into the water. Short order, he was dragged under and was hit by the prop killing him. From news reports the ship was halfway out the waterway of Piraeus when the captain was ordered back to port. The two "deck hands", first officer and Captain were detained. Not sure how the ferry was allowed to leave but probably another captain and first officer were pulled from another ship. Upon arrival to Heraklion Crete, passengers were further detained on board since protesters had gathered on the dock and were ready to storm the ship. It’s been reported the deck hands were being charged with murder and captain and first officer for dereliction of duty. Rules state here in Greece that the passenger walkways an car ramps must be fully retracted and secured before the vessel May move. In all the years I have lived here and all of the departures I have witnessed the ramps have never been stowed completely before the vessel departs. They can be several hundred meters out from the dock before the car ramp is fully secured. There is also an investigation underway as to why the coast guard who is responsible for safety issues of dockside incidents was not present when this happened. As for the vessel involved, it’s name is the BLUE HORIZON which is owned by ANEK Lines of Crete. There should be additional info on the internet.

I think it's great that the guy's want to be in your video's, plus it would give their families a chance to see them doing their job's, which would be good if they have children. I would think missing the little fellas and fellets would be hard, because they grow so fast, and being a role model from a distance has got to be tough at time's. G-d bless all of you, and see you next time.

This video brought back my memories of sailing, exactly that trip I found myself on thirty years ago. Thanks!

I generally enjoy your videos, especially the technical information. I am a retired electrical/electronic engineer with many years experience with railroad equipment. (I thought locomotives had big engines. Ha Ha) In this video we learned about a typical fueling stop on the high seas. I also have to complement you on one of the most pleasant and informative "commercial" messages, for at MLA College. I am not planning further higher education but you did show us a good opportunity for anyone who is interested. Thank You!

Thank you as always for sharing your adventures; this is as close to Cape Verde as I'll ever be too.
