Z LIVE! Field Trip with Ash Soan & Stanton Moore

During the taping of Zildjian LIVE, we had a bit of time between rehearsals to sneak out for a few fun, impromptu field trips to get to know our artists better.

This "Zildjian Field Trip" Stanton Moore and Ash Soan went to Atomic Records in Burbank, CA.

Digging through records with these two phenomenal drummers brought up a lot of fun facts and music history from: the music of New Orleans, to the band ABBA, to Ash being in The Beatles (ok...not really...BUT one can dream right!?). We hope you enjoy exploring music with Ash and Stanton as much as we did!

These two guys are longtime heroes of mine. I love hearing them talk about their heroes (which are also some of my heroes as well) like they’re little kids in such awe of the music. It doesn’t matter how old you get, experienced you are it still comes back to the love of the music and the craft. It’s goddamn brilliant! Cheers gents!

0:36 That is an album recorded by Pierre Moerlen's Gong, not by Gong themselves. He was a quite good drummer: check out "Gazeuse", with Allan Holdsworth on guitar.
