Today is #EuropeDay! 9 May
Europe Day message by Andrej Babiš, Czech Prime Minister.
Europe Day 2020 takes place under very exceptional circumstances in all Member States, as Europe is active on all fronts to fight the coronavirus crisis. This year's Europe Day marks important milestones for the European Union: the 70th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, and the 25th anniversary of the accession of Austria, Finland and Sweden to the EU.
Today is #EuropeDay!
Today we celebrate 70 years of European solidarity that offered a helping hand to rebuild & reunite a continent on the ashes of WWII and to build prosperity. The same solidarity is needed to save lives, livelihoods and build a green & digital future. Long live Europe 🇪🇺#EuropeDay
Europe Day is a day celebrating "peace and unity in Europe" celebrated on 5 May by the Council of Europe and on 9 May by the European Union. The first recognition of Europe Day was by the Council of Europe, introduced in 1964.
It marks the 70th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, a starting point towards the EU as we know it today. 🇪🇺
Only through unity and solidarity are we able to maintain the European project. Together we are stronger.
Europe must emerge stronger from this crisis: Joint op-ed by President Sassoli, President Michel and President von der Leyen #eudebates
