Did you know that El Castillo pyramid from Chichén Itzá was built with special astronomical orientation and also above an underground lake called a cenote? El Castillo pyramid was dedicated to the god Kukulkán and every year on the fall and spring equinox one can see the descent of the snake due to its secial orientation. A cenote is a cave filled with water and the Chichén Itzá cenote, called Ik Kil, was used for human sacrifices by the Maya. Also, Yucatan peninsula has many cenotes that have formed after the meteorite who killed the dinosaurs fell. Due to its special architecture, if someone claps only on the northern side of the pyramid, one can hear the noise of a bird called Quetzal. Actually, all the monuments from Chichén Itzá were astronomically aligned. Chichén Itzá was built by the Mayan people around 250 AD to 900 AD. The pyramid El Castillo has 365 steps. Listen Please...

It's way older then what is said. My university professors who went in person to research here found that all these ancient monuments are far older than what has been said.

Great place to visit, but bring at least three bottles of water. I saw three people pass out from the heat.

I climbed it. Amazing. Once atop, you turn and look down what seems to be a cliff with a verticle drop. 🤯 each step is above average height, but much narrower than a standard step.
These people were a short people and you must wonder how they managed those steep steps.

On the way down, I sat and came down one step at a time, clinging to the chain that was attached in the middle of the stairs and terrified I would miss a step and roll down the pyramid to my death... I am so glad I climbed it because no words actually describe it properly.

O so it was built somewhere between 250 and 900 a.d. I had no idea that's when it was built. I truly had no idea.

Everything in the americas were build less than a thousand years ago and everything in Europe where build several thousand years ago. Hint? Lie’s lies lies, there is proved that there were humans settlers in the Americans more than 30 thousand years ago, but it’s so hard for some people to accept that great civilizations capable of building beautiful cities with more than 1500 thousand buildings thousands of years ago, astrology, mathematics, engineering, medicine, acoustic sounds, sports, they were capable to predict eclipse’s with 10 years of anticipation, their cities even had pressured water, bathrooms with toilet’s and temazcal (sauna), agriculture, and I can keep going. Till spain invade what is now Latin America and also United States and Canada, bringing plague’s, hate and robbing everything they could put their hands on, and now they called Latin America third world countries, their hate keep going and going, it’s just sad.
