Aptera’s Story...

Aptera's purpose, our drive, is to bring freedom to people and the planet.

We deliver that freedom by designing electric vehicles with extreme efficiency- using low-drag aerodynamics inspired by nature, able to travel 1,000 miles on a single charge and power themselves just by being parked in the sun. For us, that's the real meaning of independence, and what keeps us accelerating into the future. 🚀

I think the Aptera is both cool and green. I think the range will help with range anxiety.

When does Aptera plan on being able to sell these?! I would love to drive one and test it out. I was so sad when the original Aptera line never made it to production last decade.

10 years ago I was one of the naysayers about this car company, thinking that no one would buy one because it was too weird. Now, after seeing things like the Morgan 3 Wheeler, Polaris Slingshot, and Vanderhall Venice occasionally while commuting in my car, I see how clueless I was in my opinion. If they can produce these things in a timely matter 2021 - 2022 and at the projected price points, they'll sell like hotcakes.

I ordered mine. This is the car I've been dreaming of since I was 13 years old!

About the charging port, solar charged cars must have option to be able to connect two connect few external solar panels directly to the charging port. Not sure how difficult this could be to provide with the present generator onboard. Like for long weekends, have few solar-panels on the lawn and connect the cable to the charge port. No need to install a complete solar power system and then use the grid level voltage then to charge through the normal charging ports.

When will these come to Australia? The solar recharging and long range would be useful.

Great, guys! But I wanna see the trunk larger!

How will the battery be charged? Any special ports, etc? And how long will a full charge take?

My commute is 31 miles. 4 days in 6. I am curious to see how much charge this car would get in England as opposed to sunnier climates such as Spain.

What is the charge rate per hour on solar?

With this level of efficiency, why weigh it down with a 100 kWh pack?

Does it use a heat pump for heating/defrosting/AC?

0:15 What if it’s a Cloudy Day at School should I just Abandon my Solar EV and Walk to Home, but we need a Charge Port to Charge it on Cloudy Days of School

Hello! Will these cars come to Germany? :-)

On what conditions is these 40 miles calculated? I assume the difference in a hot, sunny, southern country/state relative to a cold, northern, clouded country/state is big.

I don’t understand, does it have 1, 000 mile range, or 43 miles per day? It’s really very unclear.

It's a great idea, the car is one of the most efficient in the world, but why do you ruin it by providing IMPOSSIBLE DATA? You will end up making believe that the whole project is a scam! Be honest! I have seen they claim over 40 miles with one day of solar charging !!! Take a calculator, how can a couple of square meters of unevenly oriented solar panels provide energy for 40 miles to a car (even if it is very light and aerodynamic)?!?!?! They couldn't even do it for a bicycle! And even if that were true, do you think there is sunshine every day? That there are no trees, houses, buildings making a shadow where you use and park your car? Or do you live in the Sahara ?! It is a fantastic car, maybe I'll even buy it, but make it clear that with solar power it is reasonable to expect an average mileage of no more than 10 miles per day with speeds below 30 miles per hour.
