Changing the appearance (rendering) color of a material requires at a minimum addressing the appearance asset of the Material in Revit. In this example, I keep the original color and create a new material that uses a duplicated material asset that is also modified.

It would have been better with some kind of sound to tell the viewer what you are doing with the video,

Not to criticize but the lack of sound and speed at which the tutorial was offered was not of much help. I am an expert in autocad but learning the nuances of Revit. To often I see tutorials by people that put these vids up with the same issues. So grateful for the attempt but I wasted time trying to follow it.
