U.S. President Joe Biden said he will sign legislation Wednesday providing $95 billion in aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan after the Senate gave its approval late Tuesday.
The United States is planning to send Ukraine a military aid package valued at up to $1 billion immediately after President Biden signs it into law, according to two defense officials who spoke to VOA.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Shanghai on Wednesday for three days of talks with senior Chinese officials. Blinken will meet his counterpart, Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday in Beijing and likely have a meeting with President Xi Jinping.
Hundreds of protesters under the banner of Jewish Voice for Peace gathered in New York on Tuesday, near Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's home, to protest U.S. support of Israel's offensive in Gaza.
