I was a Sophomore in highschool on September 11, 2001. This song gave words to us that were speechless. I'm now a Firefighter Paramedic and I often run to this song, remembering the 343 that perished that day. But mostly I thank you for creating a song that will always remind me of the feeling all of us had on September 12, 2001. The day we were all the same; the day we only loved one another

It was the acoustic version of this song that made me realize the extent of the lyrics and how deep they went. Such an great tribute video they made for this. RIP to all those that lost their lives on that day. They will forever be hero's.

I just read about Welles Crowther on wikipedia, and he made me think of this song. He was a 24-year-old banker who rescued like 18 people before the tower collapsed on him and rescue workers. In about a month he'd have been 40.
