Not to be sappy but I love when you talk about your grandma. I had a funeral for mine this morning and hearing you talk about yours makes me think they’d get along. Mine loved fashion too and was super crafty and creative. I’m gonna miss her a lot. To whoever reads this: make sure to hug your grandparents and tell them you love them.

When this dress was made in the 80’s, it was based on a style that was much older..
vintage items were very trendy in the 80’s, we wore them often and complimented them with jewelry for the same period (40’s -50’). So this beautiful piece is modeled off a dress from the early 60’s, I’d say. Beautiful dress, Benetton had diverse and pretty things.

i love minneapolis vintage fests! they have some of the coolest things! there was one in the moa (not minneapolis, ik.) but i found this amazing yellow fit and flare dress from the 50's!

I owned that dress and wore it to multiple wedding and baby showers. It’s hard to explain the popularity of Benetton was in the 80s, thanks for this little trip down memory lane

Reminds me of my mom's honey moon dress she made for herself that I now own! She thinks I should dye it lavender for a new pop of life since I do a lot of my own tailoring and textile work now. I think it's super cool that it's become a generational project.
