Top 10 Unreleased Mounts in WoW

With the hundreds of mounts at Warcraft’s disposal it’s bound to have a few that never actually see the light of day. They may have existed for a brief moment on the PTR or Beta version of an expansion but were never properly introduced into Live and eventually were forgotten. In this video we’re going to be going over the top ten unreleased mounts of WoW.

Not adding the Felreaver motorcycle mounts in 10.2 was absolutely criminal. It would have been one of the coolest mounts they dropped.

Considering the Stormcrow was added in late Pandaria, I imagine it was meant to be released in Warlords alongside the Spirehawk. Just look at it's colorscheme, it perfectly matches Anzu which has lore in Draenor. Considering the Raven Lord mount was dropped in one of the Shattrath wings during Burning Crusade, I wouldn't be surprised if the Stormcrow was a rare drop in the Shattrath raid that was originally planned for WoD.

Was expecting the bengal Tiger Mount rumoured from the STV cave. It was available on the wow beta iirc

I believe deathbringers flayedwing wasnt added as blizzard didnt want plyers outside of necrolord covenant to have acess to necrolord mounts at first - remember, in shadowlands covenants aestetic and theme were really important, and there were no way for you to get the apearances of covenant speciffic things - unless yore a part of that exact covenant.
Probably whey used necrolord mount as a placeholder model, intending to create new mount or recolor for this achievement, but near release whey just decided whey dont have time for it, and as whey didnt want to handle necrolords mount to anybody - just scrapped achievment as a whole. Limited sucess of war mode and previous meta achievements of the same type probably mattered as well. But i think the model is where it is - as before launch of expansion all other pieces were in place.

For the War Mode achievement, you didn't need to kill a single player in each zone (except for the 20 of each covenant but this one could be done in Battlegrounds or Arena), because the PVP world quest gives you 50 honor, so when you do them 20 times (which you need for Impressing Zo'Sorg), you already have the 1000 honor.

The onyx hyena was in the in game mount journal for a while back in bfa, tool tip said it came from rated battlegrounds

There was a mount added back in WotLK called "Black Warp Stalker", it was never released at all. The closest we got is the Phase-Hunter mounts

I saw the red and blue mechanostrider being used in the operation gnomeregan event just recently when you are accompanied by recruited gnomes from ironforge to meet mekkatorque outside gnomeregan.

Seems like the default Nether Drake is simply the model your character is made to ride whenever you enter Netherwing Ledge on a flying mount, similar to how you are transformed into a Fel Orc

I for one am glad they weren’t released. I have 1007 mounts and I can finally touch grass after going hard to get all of those for years. Don’t need anymore for now lol.
