How to USE the RPG in Arma Reforger

To start the sight might be quite confusing, but lets break it down

The cross at the top is for 50m

and the "2" line is for 200 meters

Then the 3 is for 300 meters and so on

Now how can you tell your range?

Well there is actually a built in range finder, which you can use to see the distance

Simply line up the bottom of the vehicle with the bottom line and the top of the vehicle with the curved line

and where it lines up is the range.

So in our example, the vehicle is at 400 meters

Now we can move our target to the 4 and take the shot

Additional information: Tandem Warheads

The 1, 1.5 and 2 Lines below the gridded sight are ranges for Tandem Charge Warheads.
1 - 100m
1.5 - 150m
2 - 200m

I believe the thicker line in the middle of the grid is for 50m but I'm not 100% sure. Feel free to correct if wrong

Iirc from what someone told me the rpg rangefinder was designed to target American m60 Patton tanks so depending in the vehicle you might have to add or take away due to some vehicles being taller than the Patton

i love the whole technical square for longer shots and the oh shit crosshair at the top

left markings (with the crylic M) is for the light to medium heavy rounds like the PG-7V/7VM
Right marking (with the crylic n) are for the heavy round PG-7VL.
Middle marking (With the crylic P) is for the even heavier rounds like the tandem PG-7VR or Thermobaric TBG-7V

The reason for it being at “400m” and it hits at 300 is because (I believe I’m remembering right) this sight is still for people meaning it’s ranging a human sized target not a vehicle, so it being all fills the range finder fast resulting in an inaccurate range. Personally as an RPG man if this was my range and info I would aim at the top of the target at 300 I’m either hitting center mass or top.

the 2.4 below the rangefinder shows what the assumed target height is in meters. sometimes you'll see something similar with sniper scopes but it will say 1.7 to estimate distance to a human target.

The in sight rangefinder is incredibly inaccurate, purely because of the large variations of heights on vehicles. Other Russian sights (like on rifles) also had this, but the built in rangefinder on those were more accurate because you would be measuring the range with a person, therefore less variation.


Let me clear this up, I said this to tell newer players that saw this to not blindly trust the rangefinder, and that it takes experience to get truly accurate ranges

The sight lines you uss changes depending the type of ammunition. Tandem HEAT is amongst the heaviest and has shorter range, and inversely HE-Frag is the lightest and s much flatter trajectory

Song brings back memories. When my pops would go get something to eat and leave the controller on Battlefield 1943, id pick it up, put dynomite on a jeep, and drive it right into the enemy tank. Now i do the same when playing squad.

Fun fact, the bottom half of the ranges labeled 1, 1.5, and 2, are for tandem rounds with a much heavier drop off (not sure if they’re in the game since I don’t play but yk)

With the regular rounds you got to use the right side of the sight, not the left, the left is for the OG-7 rounds, the very skinny one, it's a fragmentation round. As others have pointed out, the fat ones, tandem or thermobaric you use the middle line.

It also depends on the type of projectile in the RPG, each projectile has its own reticle. you need to memorize which projectile your sight is for, and then you will calmly destroy equipment to enemies.
