Hedgehogs are the funniest! I had one in college. Sometimes she would beg to be held and snuggle in. Other times she would ball up and refuse to be held. Very fun pets! I live in a different state and can't have them here, but I wish I could. Enjoy her sassy self! She's beautiful!

Yes it’s very normal for hedgehog’s to scare or nervous in a new environment, just keep working w your hedgie she will come around, you’re going awesome job with her❤🤗🦔

Not sure if this is easier for you to clean the wheel but what I did was take the wheel outside, have one gallon of hot water, and then one gallon of cold water (two milk jugs) pour hot water on the wheel and scrub with a scrub brush. Then rinse off suds and the handle. I did this in Ohio so worked even when it was cold out and didn't take long at all!

I iwsh I had that much fleece. Need to get more. Husband lost his job though so that will have to wait a bit. I did just donate a bunch of extra guinea pig items and food to the shelter where I adopted one of my girls

They do a thing called anointing.. where they lick and nibble and make spit and them spit it onto there backs… that may be what she is trying to do to get your scent onto her

RE glass water bottles, it's likely the washer inside the lid that needs replacing if it's leaking so suddenly like that.
Im not sure if they sell just the washer replacements though, it's something you can look into

Emder is so cute. Meal worms Are actually more of a treat to a hedgehog than bad to them But I would recommend giving them just occasionally as like you give you're Guinea pigs A treat❤😊

@autumngrace. know this vid is 3 months old but just wanna say depending on her mood at the time the licking and then nipping while not feeling good is actually kind of a good thing! Hedgies will lick and then sometimes bite things that smell good to them so that they can mix that smell/taste with their saliva and then coat their quills in it(gross but just a normal thing for them) so her doing that to you most likely means she likes the way you smell/taste which is good

Great video! The only thing is I would not suggest feeding by hand on a regular basis, as they will associate your hands with food and can start biting more and more. Patience is key when working with your adorable hedgie, they will start to trust you over time!

If they like bite you that means they like smell something tasty on your hands because it’s not normal for hedgehogs to bite you 18:34

Definitely make sure that when you do make her cage bigger to keep it crowded (obviously have space for her to move) because they don’t like big open spaces ❤️❤️

I have been waiting for an update ❤❤ I have no doubt she will have a great bond with you. You're an amazing mama to your pigs, the bunnies, and Elle. I know you will be patient, and she will grow to love and trust you ❤❤ I hope your move goes smoothly lol I hate moving. I wonder if you could get like a pouch or crossbody bag and put her in it and carry her around for a few hours every night or every other night. That way, she can feel safe and hidden but also get used to your voice and smell.

Hi so I am on a simmler position where I just got one for free from someone at my school but it did not get handled much and did not really have anything it’s it’s old home we are slowly upgrading the home and trying to handle it a little bit everyday do you have any other tips for me or just advice
