There’s a point in jazz where the chord notation just doesn’t matter anymore.
You can be playing an Ab9sharp13add42flat56 and the only person really concerned with it is you.
The bass player is gonna hold down 1, 3 and 7 (maybe some other stuff. MAYBE) and the horns are gonna play what’s notated.
Drummer just flat out doesn’t give a shit about any of it.
As long as you’re playing within the structure of the key signature and the related keys, the notation and specific theory doesn’t need to get insanely complex.
