The fire test is a LIE don’t hurt your crystals

Can you share some ways of authenticating crystals that aren't the burn test? I know that the burn test will tell you if it's plastic but you shouldn't be burning plastic in the first place. I'm more concerned as to how to tell if they're real or glass (I can usually tell, I just struggle with crystal beads) which the burn test doesn't tell you anyway :/
