Irrelationship | Does This Seem Familiar?

Irrelationship is a shared defense two or more people use to hide from intimacy by creating and maintaining a relationship which appears to provide mutual care giving. They are acting the way they think people should act when they care, but they are really more investing in trying to prove they care than actually caring. This makes for a growing sense of distance in the relationship when it seems they ought to be growing closer.
