I can’t imagine a more stellar pairing than Lauren Daigle’s sultry voice and the happy, jazzy, festive, master-class amazing instruments that jazz trumpet 🎺 just MAKES my day, the understated drums, a sprinkling of piano, the crooning of the clarinet is so perfectly quiet, you might not realize it’s there, that trumpet again! Is that a trombone I heard. I just caught the upright bass! Oh my - too wonderful for my best words. What a gift of vocals and talents to bring the baby Jesus, son of Mary, King of kings! A very Merry Christmas 🎄 (and I still MUST know who is playing that trumpet)

I am in fourth grade and 9 years old, I turn ten on December 20th it's almost my birthday! I love the beauty of your voice. I too am a christian I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I have been through a lot. I am a retired military man (20 years), and at the end of my career, I surrendered my life over to Christ. I was just tired of fighting, not just in the physical realm, but in the spiritual realm as well (fighting against God; for I was raised in a Christian home, and had run away from it when I joined the military). I (thought) I was going to enter into a complete life of peace. Was I ever wrong! That's when the real battles began!

My kids, all in their teens, were not expecting this 'new' dad who had spent most of their lives away in the Persian Gulf (deployed 9x). I laid down rules for the house (no drinking, drugs, ungodly music, etc.) and the war began. My oldest son got involved in drugs and one day he got drunk and pulled a gun on me, threatening to shoot me. He was arrested and removed from my house. My wife became depressed and attempted suicide, I sat beside her in the hospital while she was unconscious for a week. My daughter became seriously ill during this time with Bulemia, and my youngest son pretty much abandoned the family and has hardly been home since. In that time, I almost lost my home, had three cars break down on me, two car wrecks, and had to learn a new career. Not to mention, I found out that my father (who I had always looked up to as a strong Christian man), had molested my sister when we were kids. [He died when I was 13, in 1985]

But Jesus has been with me every step of the way during these past 6 years that all of this happened. I absolutely love getting alone with Him and reading my Bible in silence. It heals me. I have often looked for music to soothe my soul, but most of it seems so fake and blase...but this fits perfectly in my life, and sets the right frame of mind I need during the storms of my life. I know the enemy is fighting against me, but the harder he fights, the closer it drives me to Christ. And honestly, even though there seems to be storms howling all around me all the time, I do have that peace I was searching for when I retired.

It is good for me, that I have been afflicted, that I might learn thy statutes. Psalm 119:71
