Boone & Scenic Valley 8419 - Return of the Iowan

After a 6-year-long overhaul, the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad's prized Chinese build JS-class 2-8-2 #8419 returns to regular service in October 2023. While access to much of the route is limited, there were some great spots to view strut it stuff. Also included are some assorted clips of the railroad's diesel fleet throughout the afternoon.

1, 472 day inspection and rebuild of B&SV #8419 is finally completed. She's ready for another 15 years of service on the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. We also see some vintage diesels in the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad roster. Thanks for the footage on B&SV vintage diesels and B&SV #8419 the beautiful chinese Mikado in the US. She's been steamed up once more 😊☺️🤩

I've been to the BSVRR several times all the way from Texas! I'd go the the Labor Day weekend antique motorcycle show in Davenport, the old Thresher Reunion in Mt Pleasant and then to Boone. Happy memories that I hope to relive again next year. While I'm a dedicated Texan I love the mid west. I've poked around the yards in Boone and explored the Kate Shelly bridge, dozens of fast UP trains on the old Chicago and Northwestern.

But, to be fair, after being hidden away for 6 years, people will come out and see it for its first official run, so we are happy for the supporters!

Mighty glad they painted out the Chinese symbols and lettered the tender with an authentic lettering/logo and painted out the flags around the stack.

Speaking of which, now all they need to do is take off that "box" over the stack and you'll have one good looking locomotive. 😁

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 especially steam locomotives 🚂 like that one and he is glad that it is up and running again 😀😄.

DUE TO THE LOS ANGELES HARBOR DROP INCIDENT THERE WAS A GREAT CONCERN OF HIDDEN DAMAGE!
THERE WERE SENT 5 OF THE DATONG FACTORY REPRESENTATIVES TO ALSO ASSIST WITH POSSIBLE ISSUES!
WORKING WITH THE FACTORY REPS WAS A VERY INTERESTING AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE!!
SHE SOUNDS GOOD, COMING UP THE HILL,
