Winter Soldier was also graded badly and im pretty sure that movie is in all of our top 5-10. I usually feel the exact opposite from rotten tomatoes.

I was literally having a conversation about the same subject with my wife last night. It’s hard when a film has to both serve as a standalone story, plus expanding upon the story of the character that has already been told in other films, and also set up for the larger narrative of the phase. Marvel will obviously have missed steps, which they haven’t experienced a ton of yet. But I still have hope.

I’m here for the entire story! I’ve come to terms with the fact that the MCU is just a great show with a lot of mini storylines, complex characters, and great cohesion.

I'm going see Quantimania tomorrow at 7pm. I think because expectations are high and there is a bar from the first 3 phases that the MCU trying to be more collective and connected, people's opinions are going to get skewed on individual films until hindsight when they look at the phase as a whole and go back to appreciate the foundation and blocks that each film contributed

It's interesting to hear some of these reviews seem to almost gaslight on the previous Antman movies. I feel like a lot of those reviews were less than glowing at the time they came out as well but then a couple of these look back on them a lot more positively. I'm looking forward to this one regardless of the reviews. Paul Rudd is a treasure no matter the movie and I think this looks like a fun adventure in a new environment, similar to the first Doctor Strange. Happy viewing to all watching it this weekend.

To be honest, I have learned that the critics don’t share the Same love for the movies that is fans do. They don’t really care about anything but how it sits by itself, while fans see it for what it truly is, another episode in the massive story of the MCU. I am so excited to see Quantumania, and I am happy to see Phase 5 kick off with Scott and Hope.

I went with the family and watched it in 4DX. I was a little apprehensive that it wouldn't be a good stand alone movie in its own merits. But I enjoyed it yes the story does tie into other strands but that's because kangs in it, but it has a great story arc that completes its story and left me more satisfied than afterwatching multiverse of madness. Well worth a watch.

One of my biggest complaints about most of the phase 4 projects was that they felt a little bit too self-contained without enough connective tissue. There were certainly exceptions but it just didn't feel like it was really buildings anyting. I think a lot of the complaints that people have are actually things I'm going to appreciate about the movie.

I've just watched it. For some reason in New Zealand it came out on the 15th. No spoilers obviously but I thought it was a great movie. Kang is definitely the star of the movie. Cant really say much more without spoiling it but definitely go watch it and STAY FOR THE MID AND POST CREDIT SCENES especially the mid credit scene.

You won't be disappointed, it's a bit of a busy movie but it never goes so far as to lose you along the way. All I know is I'm finally excited for the new phase and Kang doesn't disappoint. But the 2 post credit scenes.... OHHHH THE POST CREDIT SCENES!

Despite everything that people are saying about this movie, I am still super excited for it because I loved the first two movies and I have heard a lot that this is the best one so far. I won't let these reviews make my mind up for me, but I have hope that this is gonna be great.

I never listen to the reviews of movie critics. I like judge a movie based off whether or not I enjoyed. Was I deeply engrossed by what is going in the movie? Movie critics have a history of giving negative reviews to superhero movies as it is. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie and I won't let any movie critic influence my judgement of the movie.

The reviews seem to suggest it has kind of the opposite effect as Werewolf By Night. Werewolf seemed concerned only to tell a very contained story not really too concerned with where it fit in the MCU. I don't think Quantumania will be a failure because of its burden in setting up phase 5 but will be seen as a showcase for what Kang will bring to the table.

If the bad reviews are to be believed, it sounds like marvel studios made the same mistake so we did with amazing Spider-Man 2, in terms of the movie, focusing on setting up other stuff, and not being a film about the characters in it
