I love how on the roof, the Soul Master demonstrates the full range of his power, but once he slams you into the basement, you see the mountains of bugs he went through to give himself that power.

Something interesting I've noticed:
The Soul master and the dash master are most likely related(or even the same character), note how the soul master looks pretty much exactly like the statue of the dash master(or even the charm), but with different clothing?
On top of that, the dashmaster charm gives you a downward dash, wheras the soul masters signature move is an empowered downward dash.

for the people who struggle with this boss here are some tips

1.) yes, he’s been buffed since this video and now sends shockwaves when he lands. make full use of the mothwing cloak in the air to keep off the ground for longer

2.) the attack with the four rotating projectiles leaves you a 2-mask heal window if you know where to stand (this even works when you fight him the second time)

3.) this boss isn’t even required to leave the area ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ there’s a stag station in the city you can get to without his ability and if he really is too hard still you can leave until you get the other nail upgrades

when he grows skinny and breathes heavy, he wont start attacking until you do. Recharge your health first and then attack him.

Surprisingly, I’ve beaten him in the first try. The only attacks I’ve gotten damage from was his fake slam attack

seems a bit overleveled compared to what most people will encounter at this boss.

Most annoying part of this fight is that the checkpoint is too damn far!
Also how is it that when he jumps two spirals of damage aren't launched at each side of the floor? It's very hard to dodge that.

But where are the shockwaves following his Desolate Dive? He seems to be giving a much more lenient time between attacks and is much less aggressive in this particular video?

This boss sounds so impatient, As if he's saying, "Why are you respawning?!?!"

Charms I've used to defeat the soul master:
Grubsong-that way if you keep getting hit, you'll be able to heal yourself
Baldur shell- like with grubsong, you could protect yourself from his magic - like projectiles whilst healing yourself
Longnail- you NEED this charm I mean, mark of pride also works, but combining all of these charms altogether makes the fight a LOT easier

Beating this guy on the first try only to then die over and over the Brooding Mawlek was a sobering experience.

Couldn't believe that I managed to beat this boss on my first try with fewer upgrades.

Beat this guy yesterday first try, I really love this boss. The theme, his attacks, and especially his second phase. His second phase feels like a desperate attempt just to kill you, like he’s panicking heavily because he knows he’s about to die. The second phase of this boss is just so great, it feels like a ramp up in speed, craziness, and just chaos overall. I also just really like the noises he makes while attacking for some reason, don’t ask me why.

THIS is my favorite boss in the game so far. And the way he teleports away when your about to hit him, it’s just so good. It makes you feel really helpless in the fight, like your fighting a whole celestial being on a entirely different level than you.
