I present to you, the umbrella scene: it makes the blind people see, makes the deaf people hear, makes the paralyzed people walk, resurrects the dead, and makes me cry, among many other miracles.

There’s a French phrase, coup de foudre. In its literal form, it means “thunderbolt, ” but is more commonly used for the moment when two people fall in love. It’s interesting because in the moment when Adrien holds out the umbrella to Marinette, there is an audible roll of thunder in the background, marking the moment when Marinette and Adrien fall in love.
It’s a truly beautiful idea, and is used in such a beautiful way. Paired with the amazing music and setting, it’s hard not to fall in love with this scene.
The show Miraculous really shows the way that people in love can dance around and avoid each other simply for lack of understanding their emotions. Beneath the goofy layer, there’s so much more to it, and I wish it would happen in real life.

i enjoyed watching this episode last. It made my heart flutter to know how they got to know eachother and how their crushes developed. It would not have the same heartwarming effect if this episode was seen first. I like that the french release saved this episode last

I don't know where I read it but there was a comment saying that that thunder at 0:35 was a symbol of Adrien and Marinette being soulmates. Can anyone explain!

Ever since ‘The Umbrella Scene’, Adrien loves using the phrase “She’s just a friend”. Maybe he doesn’t realise the feelings he may have for Marinette because he’s never been in a relationship before and during the stoneheart episode, he really wanted to make new friends and was so happy when Marinette became his new friend. He probably struggles to move the friendship to the next level, even though he shows signs of interest towards Marinette like in the New York special. Also he likes Ladybug as Chat Noir so that might be getting in the way.
