I read that as 4am at first and was seriously confused - then again my experience was that Germans are really risers, so 😂

The fact that you were cozy in bed with a book just before 4pm is the greatest thing ever!!!

*cries in American*

4pm in America: Push to work until 5pm so rush hour during your two-hour drive home maybe won’t be so bad and tomorrow morning’s workload won’t be so overwhelming

I wish we worked to live instead of living to work in the States!

Only inaccuracy I see is using a regular sized fork instead of a itty bitty Kuchengabel

Edit: I have been corrected. My sense of visual scale was thrown off for some reason. Maybe forced perspective. Perhaps Uyen is small and therefore by comparison the fork looks larger than it otherwise would, but that is indeed a Kuchengabel.

At 4pm? In my family we expected guests for Kaffee und Kuchen at 3pm. Better not be late, as the coffee might be already made 😉

My most beautiful memory visiting UK for the first time many years ago, was the invitation to 4pm tea. Sitting with my new found friend in her comfy centuries old Shrewsbury kitchen, sipping from fine china cups, the floral woollen tea cosy snuggled the large pot of smokey Russian Caravan. Her delicious fresh baked bread was smothered in lashings of butter, with thick globs of her glorious homemade rich blackberry jam. Warmed by the wood stove, soft rain pattering outside. I still remember walking way, along cobbled streets bathed in golden low lights, my heart friend’s conversations, umbrella in hand, smiling in the afterglow. Visiting from Australia, this 4pm simple tea ceremony was the height of comfort in an intense work related trip. Unforgettable.🥰

In The Netherlands we have this too, but most people ignore it and continue their work 😭 I’m raised with a 4-5 PM moment though, with soup and bread mostly! It’s so fun and cool to read lots of countries do this too and have their own variations 😮 And that you have followers from all over the world, too 🤗

Same in Brazil! Around 4pm-5pm we have "lanche da tarde" or "cafezinho". Usually we eat sponge cake, bread, pão de queijo, cheese, ham and drink coffe or juice, while watching the afternoon telenovela with our family ❤
