Load and Explode - Lateral Drive

Following up on Mondays “load and leap” exercise today Kyle is performing a kneel to lateral drive aka “load and explode”. Set up a box/step at roughly knee height or lower. Start by placing one knee on the box and the other leg on the side of the box.

1️⃣ Keeping your hips level, slowly lower your self down using just the leg on the box
⭐️as you lower yourself down lift up the knee not on the box in preparation for the next step ⭐️
2️⃣ Just prior to sitting on heel that is on the box, DRIVE your other foot into the ground, propelling yourself over the box

3️⃣ Stick the landing on the opposite leg, again keeping your hips level.

The major keys with this exercise are:
🔑 level hips through out
🔑 slow control on the box leg
🔑 powerfully drive leg into the ground as fast as possible 💨
This exercise is a great way to train the ballistic qualities need for explosive lateral movements. Try this movement out yourself and challenge a friend to try it out with you ⚡️🏆💯
