WHAT IF JAMIE HAD BENT THE KNEE?
Jamie was already close to getting fed up with Cersei's self-pitting fatalistic attitude that she'd rather die fighting than die on her knees as if that was the only choice before them. Jamie, like his brother Tyrion, had seen first hand what dragons were capable of on the battlefield. He'd seen first hand what it was like to face a Dothraki Hoard and knew that no army in Westeros would prevail against them. And given that the Unsullied were THE only military, in thousands of years of history, to fight the Dothraki into such a stalemate that they finally paraded past the Unsullied lines with each Screamer cutting their braids and tossing them at the feet of the Unsullied, in an admission of defeat, and demonstration of their shame.
It was Cersei who sent a Lanister Army to it's fiery doom before the Kalisi's Dothraki Hoard and just a single dragon. She had two more to bring to bare. She had the alliance of the new King of the North. The Iron Born were allied with her. She had the largest navy in the known world, and Cersei wasn't even capable of holding her own lands at Casterly Rock against her. Had Daenerys continued to follow Tyrion's policy of not allowing herself to become "Queen of the Ashes", and it she'd appointed Tyrion - the Half Man Hero of the Mud Gate - as Steward of Casterly Rock until the fighting in the south had ended, well then who would continue to stand with Cersei? Euron Greyjoy? And how would the rest of Westeros feel about that? Masande would never have died. Would Daenerys have gone insane anyway? She very well could have married The new King in the North thereby uniting the North and the South of Westeros. We heard nothing at all about where the High Towers of Old town stood. What if their maesters had proposed choosing who next sat on the Iron Throne the way King Jaehaerys, the first of his name did, by holding a Great Counsel of all the Lords Paramount and all the Lords Vassal, perhaps even holding it again at Harrenhal? I VERY much doubt that Daenerys would have had any problem at all in following in the footsteps of one of the wisest and most beloved of all the Targaryn Kings. Especially if both Varys and Tyrion were advocating for the proposal and King Jon agreed to rule with his Queen as equals. And I think we all know he would.

As was mentioned by the original poster the battle against the Night's King would have cost fewer lives. And a once again united Westeros, with a One Thousand Ship Navy, Three full grown dragons, the Unsullied as its foremost army, a Queen who was also THE Kalisi of the Great Grass Sea, who was herself also backed by the religion of the Lord of Light, (apparently a widely held religion in the east). With all of that Westeros may have again become an indomitable power in the known world. And it would be placed to begin yet another "60 years of prosperity and peace". And who knows? How many of you believe that Daenerys would never have a child of her own? Just because the same witch that tried to kill her Kal said it would be true doesn't mean she wasn't lying. What if Daenerys was really no different than Raenyra in that respect? Raenyra lost her fist child, but all the rest of her children were born healthy hale and whole.
If Jamie had bent the knee things may have been MUCH different I suspect. But we'll never know will we?
