Welcome to Restoration Apprentice!

Something a bit different from me this time... This is my 1998 prject car that I bought in February of 2023 as my daily driver. I was driving it for a few months but then it overheated and I lost one and only key that I had. Plan is to restore it to a really nice looking and mechanically sound example.
In this part I'm changing every lock on the car so I can start it and work on it futher in my garage.
Next episode will be workshop build and afther that few Porsche 924 videos then back to this BMW.
Stay Tuned!

Great work mate. Every e39 has to be saved as the evil EVs march on. Subscribed!

If this were my luck, I’d spend six hours replacing the entire key/locking hardware, then find the original key the next day. 😂

Do you need any sync with the dme or something, or just change this parts and it will work.
Please help me because i have a e38 and have problems with ews and starting

Why not simply buy a set of keys at the dealer, thats the wat i did it. No hassle with locks, no reprogramming of the ews or dme.

I tell you frankly, you cause a lot of scratches on the paint and parts of the car. You must use equipment that does not cause scratches on the paint and parts of the car. You must be careful

Consider talking on video. It becomes very generic this way and less interesting.
