Private education became so powerful because of people the closures of the grammar schools.

Tony Blair - remind me where he went to school? His father was a Conservative supporter by the way.

One or two things that this female says about private schools could hold currency, in how exclusive they are, but the comprehensive mixed-ability-teaching principle does not often work. It is a failed method of teaching.

These people originate from the London area. So expect quite a one-dimensional London-centric view. How many of Ash Sarkar's relatives or close colleagues have done an apprenticeship?

The top 40% of apprentices earn more than the bottom 40% of graduates. The bottom 40% of graduates are mostly social science graduate grifters like Sarkar. I've been told that it's not unheard of for social science graduate grifters to get paid in Monopoly money. Fake money for their fake degree.

What's wrong with a bit of Darwinian selection? Without Darwinian selection, we'd still be happily swinging from the treetops, apparently.

Top scientists, though, don't grow on trees - they need to be developed and nurtured. You won't find much of that nurturing at many comprehensive schools. A complete lack of it - anyone obviously significantly brighter than the rest can get pathetically ridiculed by the teacher. That is third-hand knowledge, but I would believe that would be true?
