The FAA formed a Mental Health and Aviation Medical Clearances Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) in December 2023 to address barriers that prevent pilots and air traffic controllers from disclosing and seeking care for mental health issues.

I am glad AOPA has included ATC in this. The FAA has not done anything for controllers in this area up until now. There are various levels of mental health issues. It shouldn’t be a one shoe fits all. Some folks are just having a bad time with something, but they all aren’t looking to do something unthinkable.
