Keep the Fire Burning! How to stay on fire for God

And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire… Acts 28v2-3

And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it. A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. Leviticus 6v12-13

1. You will burn on fire for God to the extent that you overcome excuses. (Luke 14v18)

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5v16

Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” Genesis 3v9

2. Someone might start the fire, but it will burn from your bundle of sticks.

👉 Desire or Dissatisfaction (God put a desire in your heart or dissatisfaction in your heart)
👉 Decision (Desire for God must lead to a decision to pursue Him)
👉 Discipline (Every lasting pursuit after God requires spiritual discipline)
👉 Delight (Pursuing Jesus is not drudgery)

👉 Desire says, “I want”.
👉 The decision says, “I will.”
👉 Discipline says, “I must.”
👉 Delight says, “I want.”

👉 Every morning - consistency
👉 Burn wood - fire-friendly actions
👉 Lay the burnt offering - sacrificial

God is why the fire starts; you are why it dies.
