The difference between Kai and Lord Shens theme's is so interesting to me. Kai is a savage he fights like a beast. While Lord shen fights with style. Shen is sinister yet graceful and Kai is big and Powerful. Truly amazing movies these are.

These quotes alone are why Lord Shen is my favorite Dreamworks villain; despite being a dark-hearted, twisted villain not caring what he burns or who he kills,  deep down, he felt broken after all the evil deeds he committed, just to make his parents love him. His voice carries so much pain, & emotion it even pierced through my heart like a knife.

after setting the epic versions of Oogway’s theme and Kai’s theme on repeat for the past two months, THE ONE FOR MY FAVORITE VILLAIN IS FINALLY HERE ✨👀

The fact that the villain is a PEACOCK, and a WHITE peacock, too. Peacocks are generally seen as beautiful, elegant, regal creatures, and white is generally seen as a peaceful and serene color. Every single aspect of Shen highlights how powerful and regal he is, from the way he speaks and fights, to the way he carries himself. His entire army is composed of dark grays and blacks, while he is pure white. He is a leader, through and through. It’s just…GODLIKE character design.

Shen was the best Kung Fu Panda villain. He's an intimidating _peacock_ for crying out loud! And he fights in a way that I expect a master peacock would fight, with grace and all manner of distractions on account of his feathers.

Honestly, I'm surprised Lord Shen's character actually exists, he said some pretty dark shit for a cartoon character. He literally committed genocide.

OKAY but can we PLEASE acknowledge the fact that Shen was voice by Gary Oldman, the very man who played SIRIUS BLACK amongst other fantastic roles?
Like, he's just pure villain gold, played ba a FANTASITC actor.

the one thing i loved out of shen’s character was that he accepted his death as the soothsayer had seen. that just makes him even more badass.
as for kai he was fucking badass. his only flaw was his greed which costed him everything.

I like how in the beginning of Kung Fu Panda 2, the narrator never repeats the “one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it” quote. We’re able to infer this message simply from Shen’s story.

Lord Shen's theme is beautiful but tragic.
Kai's theme is epic and legendary.
