I had a owl cam. My car was broken into and owlcam never sent me a photo of my car being broken into. I called the company and they refused to help me at all. So I’m out $350 for the Owlcam, $34 in cash that was in my glove box and $240 for the broken window. Thanks Owlcam!

I just got this camera, and I am realizing how sneaky they are.
1- No removable memory card so you have to move everything over LTE and you have a number of allotted “credits” you very quickly run out of.
2- Cam links to phone via bluetooth, but all video out of cam is thru LTE to nickel and dime us to the max!
3- We can’t choose to put in our own SIM card in there, cause they have this dirty deal with AT&T, otherwise I’d just pop in my own SIM!
4- Wifi option is not available, obviously to fleece us out of our money by forcing us to use data “credits” to get any of our own video out of this camera.
TOTAL SCAM! Returning it tomorrow! 👎🏽

RETURN IT!!! I have used Owlcam alongside a Garmin for the last two years. The Owlcam is 3x as expensive and performs worse. And they just ended the LTE connection, now you have to pay monthly for their "service". My complaints for their camera are: fans run constantly and are louder than the engine noise in my car, the camera constantly falls off the windshield, and the camera overheats any time it goes over 70 degrees (F). The overheating is an issue because it just stays off for the first few minutes... 55% of car accidents happen within 5 minutes of leaving the home. Shame on Owlcam for charging 3x for an LTE device and then switching it to a monthly service cost. Bait and switch, anyone?

I love all the features of this camera. My only resistance is how it does in severe heat. I live in Austin TX and it gets HOT inside a parked car. How does it hold up?

Just received mine today! One suggestion I have is to give a new buyer one day of unlimited LTE connection so they can try it out and figure out how things work. I used 10 of my credits just in the first 30 minutes of having it set up testing out how the app works. Love the product so far though!

Can you record cabin camera and front facing camera at the same time? What if you wanna drive with full view of the cabin, will the front facing camera still record?

Regarding the guard mode, only when there is an impact it will start recording ? what about if I want it to record when somebody is near my car ?

Only Galaxies they support are S8 and S9. I just bought a refurb S6 that there's no reason shouldn't be supported. Guess I'll spend my money elsewhere.

You guys should realize there's a shitload of people that don't buy a new phone every time the newest model comes out. Talk about crippling your potential market share. People can't afford 600 or $700 on a phone every time Samsung or Apple puts a new model out, but would be willing to pay this price point for a security camera.

From the comments that looks like Android isn't figured out completely anyway. I guess I will have to wait till the next company comes along with this type of product and hopefully Android isn't an afterthought for them as well.

Owlcam screen. Why? Why not make the cam configurable with your phone and 86 the bulky screen?

So instead of you having unrestricted access to your video, they prevent access to data storage, unless you pay them for your own recorded content! Funny, anything I want insurance or the police to see should be on a easily emailed file. I have a PC...don't need everything on my phone. The "buy credits" thing puts this in the cameras for stupid people category for me. SD card with blue tooth would make sense, and keep everybody happy.

I live in a neighborhood where drivers pretty much don't care about vehicles in parking lots and I had at least 3 hit and runs over the last few years, so now I just want to get dashcams for my vehicle to prevent further headaches. What is the owlcam camera range if my car is parked? Should I have to get 4 different cams in order to have the 4 sides of my vehicle covered? I want to avoid any further hit and runs to my car and I don't know if an owl cam or 2 would be enough.
