Australian here, I respect India's realistic view, it's not realistic to cut off a major energy source at the drop of a hat. Additionally I find it hilarious that the UK thinks it has any right to speak about respecting sovereignty after it's colonial history & it's reliance on the energy sources, like of course the UK is ok to acknowledge respecting sovereignty is a fundamentally good thing but it has no right to call out others.

As an Indian citizen, we just see our top priority is our national interest everything else is secondary. For now Russia's policy regarding oil favours India, that's why we should definitely purchase from them, but if in later times USA produces its own oil and remove sanctions from Iran and Venezuela then we should see from which nation purchasing oil will be cheaper and of top quality.
