Schönau am Königssee || Stunning Bavarian Alps

Hey everyone, today, I’m taking you on a journey to Schönau am Königssee, a stunning spot in Berchtesgaden that you absolutely need to see if you’re visiting Bavarian alps.

First stop: Königssee, one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever seen. The water is so clear it looks like glass, and the surrounding mountains make it feel like a postcard come to life. I hopped on one of the electric boats to visit St. Bartholomew’s Church—it’s a must-do if you’re here. The views are unreal, and the peaceful vibe of the lake is something you have to experience for yourself.

Next, I headed out into Berchtesgaden National Park, which is right on Schönau’s doorstep. The trails here are incredible, offering everything from easy strolls to challenging hikes. If you’re into nature or photography, this place is a dream.

After all that exploring, I stopped by a local restaurant for some traditional Bavarian food—think pretzels, schnitzel, and, of course, a cold beer. The food here really hits the spot after a day outdoors.

If you’re planning a trip to Bavaria, don’t skip Schönau am Königssee. Between the lake, the mountains, and the amazing vibe, it’s easily one of my favorite spots in Berchtesgaden. Trust me, you’ll love it!

In German "beautiful" means "schön", just as it is found in Schönau. Wherever the name comes from, it suits this place more than perfectly, because this area simply is stunning beautiful! Viewing the landscape from your point of view during the boat trip on the water is a fantastic and relaxing experience that gives a wonderful impression of this majestic nature. But ultimately, it is the fantastic drone shots of the entire scenery of the Königssee with the surrounding mountains that present the beauty of this paradisiacal place. I can only hope you enjoyed your Bavarian food with pretzels, schnitzel and not to forget the cold beer at the end of your day as much as I enjoyed this detour!! 🙌💯💙🤍⛰🏔💚
