Thunderbird | Spirit of the Storm

Just like thunderstorms can be both helpful and destructive, the Thunderbird is a being of power capable of granting both life and death. Told in stories from countless First Nations' peoples across North America, and referred to by many names, the Thunderbird is one of the most widely revered beings in all of Native American folklore, shown as a benefactor and protector of mankind in some stories, while in others it is spiteful and hostile. Hear the tales of thunder and lightning, rain and hail, and more than a few battles with underwater demons!

My great grandfather was Native American and he passed a story onto my grandfather who told me the legend of the Thunderbird saying how everyone a storm is going on is a sign of the Thunderbird in battle with evil spirits. The stronger the storm, the stronger the fight. And when the rainbow dances across the sky it is a sign that the Thunderbird has won and kept us safe. I loved this story and it has kept in my heart for years and now I know whenever there is a storm I know I will be safe because the Thunderbird will be there to protect us.

I had a dream of thunderbirds last night. With no previous knowledge of this mythical creature.

It was a very complex dream with many things in it. But ill cut to the thunderbird part.

I was learning to fly in the dream, which in itself was really cool. But then suddenly i hear a loud thunder to my right, and as i look there. I see hundreds, if not thousands of brown-ish birds diving towards and into the sea, towards the same spot. and producing alot of loud thunder. There where so many that i could only see maybe 50% of the moon. But instantly i said to myself: "Thunderbird!" I just knew what it was as i watched the majestic, powerful and beautiful display.

I'm still in awe, it was really profound!

I had a vision last night of a Turquoise Thunderbird fly out of the Northwest and through Portland, San Francisco, the Dakotas, St Loius, Chicago, Philadelphia, and finally Washington DC. The Thindaerbird wrapped its wings around the dome of the Capital Building and held it. The message I got was that soon everyone would see and know the Truth and there would be no turning back from knowing the Truth-- whatever that is.
